A Grand Monday: 1993 Mercedes-Benz 200TE
If you’re after a winter workhorse, then check out this W124 estate for sale.
This 1993 Mercedes-Benz 200TE runs and drives and looks like it’s been well-loved with an MoT until August.
Finished in smoke silver metallic with tidy black cloth interior, the spec also boasts front electric windows, driver’s airbag and seven seats.
Not only is it a pre-facelift example but it also has the more modern 16-valve EFi two-litre engine (hooked up to the four-speed auto).
According to the current vendor, the car was with its previous owner for a decent stretch of time and comes with all the books and manuals.

Work last summer included a service, new rear brake lines, new rear brake flexible hoses, a replacement power steering/self-levelling pump and new fluid. Plus, a replacement kickdown relay. It’s on a set of not too old Falken tyres with plenty of tread.
The seller says, ‘While it’s solid underneath and has good inner wings it’s a bit scruffy with some areas of rust, dents and battle scars. The driver’s seat has the usual wear and there are various things that could do with attention. Was in daily use until recently and was reliable.’
All in all, it’s a very cheap W124 estate with a long MoT that should see you nicely into summer.
