Morri pole
My Morris Minor 1000 celebrated its 50th birthday at the beginning of September by passing it's MoT. I have used it regularly for the last 40 years and it continues its daily jaunts to the shops. Now a crack had opened up in the centre chassis cross member immediately adjacent to the torsion bar terminal (on the passenger side). My regular mechanic (for the last 20 years) thinks that road humps have proved too much for it. He feels he can't undertake a repair in this case. He is getting old too. What are my options? I certainly don't want to scrap or retire the car.

You need to join the Morris Minor Owners Club (www.mmoc.org.uk). This is a very common failure, so fixes are available.
